Art I Love: Lady Gaga x Jeff Koons

Lady Gaga just revealed her album cover for the upcoming ART POP and it was, not surprisingly, designed by artist Jeff Koons.

I first noticed the Lady Gaga/Jeff Koons connection when she used his Gazing Ball during her performance at the 2013 MTV VMAs, but my spidey senses should have told me that she would commission him to design the album cover ESPECIALLY since one of the lyrics for her single “Applause” is “One second I’m a Koons/then suddenly the Koons is me.”

It appears that Jeff Koons combined the artwork from three different series for this album cover. 1) Gazing Ball (Diana) from the Gazing Ball series, 2) his vanitas such as  Auto from the EasyFunEthereal series, and 3) Woman in Tub from the Banality series.

What do you think of the cover?
